Addictive website
Re: Addictive website
this is one of those times when size matters
Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.

I have seen some pretty big freshwater vessels, and some small saltwater vessels.

Ships, ore boats I'm still the captain of my wessel.

A boat can be carried on a ship.
I loved the description of the Irish 4000+.
That picture of you-know-who was uncalled for.
And I'm still not going to look.

A 1000 footer ore boat would be difficult to carry on any ship. Even the Mighty Fitz at a measly 700+ feet would be difficult. A big boomer Trident would be difficult to place on a ship.Lambchop wrote:A boat can be carried on a ship.

Well, one of the things we routinely say to people seeking pithy tattoo translations on IGTF (for example, the ubiquitous "Live, Laugh, Love") is "you know that's going to be longer in Irish, right?"

Next time I'm stuck for conversation with this navy reserve officer at work, I'll have to remember to ask what boats he's been on. That should be enough to get him going for 10 or 15 minutes.

Nice wee snippet from Mr O'Brian. I recognised his voice before I got to the name at the end.

Here's a boat carrying the USS Cole, over 8,000 tons.
