Very sad news.
I never missed his "Mo Cheol Tua" radio show on RTE every Sunday morning..

A warm and witty man who will be greatly missed.
Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

We listened in bed every Sunday morning on medium wave, meaning you'd get fade-outs right at the interesting bits (which most of 'em were). He was rather fond of some cheesy poems but his gentle demeanour and penchant for the old and gentler stuff made it easy to forgive him that! He sounded like a lovely chap to me. I found I could play Lark in the Clear Air first time I tried after hearing it twice a Sunday for so many years!

Good to catch ya, by the way, Connor! :)
"Last night, among his fellow roughs,
He jested, quaff'd and swore."

They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that'll never, never die.
I'll live in you if you'll live in me -
I am the lord of the dance, said he!
