Tell us something.: I have been a member for years. I haven't been very active but would like to sell a few whistles to help pay for medical costs. Over the years I have purchased several high end whistles that I rarely play now. My hands are contracted with arthritis and I can no longer play my low whistles. I also have some high D's that I don't play enough to warrant keeping in my condition.

Talk about small worlds -- you're a friend of BC's too! I occasionally bird-sit for Hamachi and Wasabi when our friend goes off to see another solar eclipse, or to visit her family in far-off places. I've even played a tune or two for them (on flute, though, usually). It can be a challenge, though, if BC isn't there; Wasabi will be on my shoulder trying to get at my facial hair while Hamachi insists on trying to get my fingers off the flute and on to her head-scratches, where they apparently belong.

Welcome.

That is amazing. Do you ever go to her egg dying party? I went years and years ago in Pt Richmond and have not gone again because of how far I live. The weekends are for lazing about Inverness. However, I'm pondering going this year..! So Wasabi likes you. She drew blood on me. I don't blame her. I was not respecting her space.

Oooh, can I assume from your profile pic that you own a grey? I love them!

Yes, small world indeed!
thanks for the warm welcome.

I now live just a few blocks from her, so it's easier to get to her famous egg-dyeing and pumpkin-carving parties for me. I lived in Marin until fairly recently, though, so I know that travel to the East Bay can be an unattractive thought.

Wasabi loves me, but I had the benefit of actually staying at BC's house for a couple of weeks a few years ago (she put me up for a couple of weeks after my house in San Anselmo flooded). BC credits me with taming Wasabi, though I think she deserves more of the credit. But it's nearly impossible to get Wasabi off of me without help, now. I think she has a thing for men, too; flirty bird.

And yes, that's my grey, Rafi. BC has visited him for me when I've been on trips before, too, so living near each other comes with the benefit of knowing there's someone trustworthy to play with the birds on occasion when one of us travels.

I suppose that's enough tying up the thread, eh? Just thought it was a nice serendipity to see someone with whom I share a non-Chiff related pal pop up here. (And isn't Hamachi just nearly pornographic in her love for that electric toothbrush? A crazy bird, in several ways.)

Anyway...that is darling. What a sweet-looking bird. She was definitely thinking about the whistle-tune.

Those are cutie pie fiddlers!
Hey, now your dh can....
"call for his pipe
call for his bowl
call for his fiddlers three"
"Let low-country intruder approach a cove
And eyes as gray as icicle fangs measure stranger
For size, honesty, and intent."
