Man: You sit here, dear.
Wife: All right.
Man: Morning!
Waitress: Morning!
Man: Well, what've you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam;
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam...
Waitress: ...spam spam spam egg and spam; spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam...
Vikings: Spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam!
Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
Wife: Have you got anything without spam?
Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
Wife: I don't want ANY spam!
Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?
Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!
Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam... (Crescendo through next few lines...)
Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Urgghh!
Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like spam!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up! (Vikings stop) Bloody Vikings! You can't have egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam.
Wife: I don't like spam!
Man: Sshh, dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your spam. I love it. I'm having spam spam spam spam spam spam spam beaked beans spam spam spam and spam!
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!! Baked beans are off.
Man: Well could I have her spam instead of the baked beans then?
Waitress: You mean spam spam spam spam spam spam... (but it is too late and the Vikings drown her words)
Vikings: (Singing elaborately...) Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful spam! Spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam. Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Spam spam spam spam!

Twenty-six posts before they were erased. All with different titles - or at least to the extent I noticed. None in the flute forum, or Uilleann pipe forum, but everywhere else.

It's an ill wind - I learned that if you put someone on your enemies list, the forum software will ignore their posts for you. ...I haven't experimented with the friends bit yet...

Are we speaking of the onslaught of raiders in their swift warships of spam?

Actually, it does. I know first-hand, and I believe I even posted about it here first in the Pub. But in case I haven't, or you missed it, here's the story again (maybe):

I made up a big pot of soup one day, and happened to have some SPAM® on hand. A bright idea occurring to me that I could add the SPAM® to reasonable if not particularly good effect, I cubed it up and tossed it into the pot. And it all floated. After a good cooking the SPAM® cubes went sort of grey and spongey, and they still floated. Not a one sank, at all. They floated right to the bitter end.

So there you have it.

So it's possible, though perhaps not probable, that the Vikings used ships made of spam. Spongy, grey spam. It's not like any self-respecting sea creature would try to eat it.

All well and good, but my question is still unanswered.

It just occurred to me, Slude, that "Does spam float?" is as successfully rhetorical as "Does a bear $#!7 in the woods?". So, in case you were asking rhetorically, my apologies for being a clodhopper.

But enough of that. Fear not: our swords of All That Is Right And Good And Chiffworthy are sharp, quick, deadly, and the raiders are no match for us. We laugh at their puny bot-ness, and dispatch them with all the dispatch we have at our dispatch, which is a lot of dispatch.

Now all we have to do is rebuild the breach that we had to make in the battlements when we redecorated the castle. Sorta forgot about that. Oops.

In a manner of speaking. Lets the little botties in to sting and bite. We can patch it up, no problem. Word must have got around.
