Interesting observation...
Re: Interesting observation...
Yeah, dates are stored in an SQL database with the time.
It's up to the phpBB software whether it wants to display
the time or not. The time's always been there, the old
version just chose not to pass along that info. It does
seem unnecessarily superfluous, devoid of purpose.

Does it?
Oooh... yes it does!
I suppose there is some use for that info in exceptional circumstances, and I guess it must not amount to much in the way of bandwidth.

Re: Interesting observation...
Every post is of necessity date & timestamped. The programmer probably turned the code that translates that into the textstring at top right of each post into a function, and any time he needs a date, he just issues a call on that function. NOT including the date in some places would be more work, not less.fearfaoin wrote:Yeah, dates are stored in an SQL database with the time.

And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

p.s. izzarina, I think you're playing fast and loose with the word interesting.
