Hey, I'm in with Firefox!

Whatever you're doing (you anonymous you!) it must be working.

Of course, that assumes that someone IS doing something and it's not genies mucking around in the system.

I seen that message today for the first time. It took a long time to post and that message showed up but the post did go through.

I FINALLY got this error. I can't believe it! I must have done something to offend the Gate Keeper :sniffle:

I get it at home (on the boat) with Firefox. I'll have to check which version when I get home, but it's set to auto-update so it should be the latest. I don't get it on the office computer which is running Firefox 3.03.

I've only gotten it once, and it was on my G4 with Safari. It was after I tried to post something, and it took forever for it to load, only to have the Gateway error page. The post actually did end up posting despite the error. Who knows :-?

I had to manually upgrade to Firefox 3 from 2, so it's worth checking. That said, I doubt that will make a difference with this problem. I'm seeing the gateway problem again now!

The odd thing is that I can often submit a message but don't see that it's submitted until I go back and check later.

That happens to me frequently.

If you close Firefox and reopen it does the 50x error quit?

yeah, the fail is after it writes the post....

Hi, Denny,

I tested posting a message on the whistle forum and it worked well without any problems.

If it happens again, I'll try restarting Firefox. Does that seem to work?

I am running ff 3.0.3 and I get the timeout regardless. What works for me is to turn away and go and do something else for a while. No use flogging a dead horse. This has nothing to do with the user's end and everything to do with the server end. It is beyond my control so I don't worry about it.

I'm on Safari, here, and a 504 time-out popped up this morning, a few hours ago.

Fortunately, it's not as bad today as it has more recently been.

Makes like exciting, right?
