Zombie update

Post by Flyingcursor »

For you Zombie fans out there. There are two new zombie movies.

Diary of the Dead. Directed by Romero. It's very good.

Day of the Dead (a remake). I haven't seen it yet but will be picking it up soon.

Plus, I'm excited because Max Brooks, author of "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z" will be giving a talk at the Kalamazoo Library this Wednesday. I hope to settle the dispute over whether zombies can run or not.

My kid will be jealous. He studied that book (the survival guide) in detail, and is all ready. I'll ask him later if he knows the answer to the run or not question, but you be sure to check in if you get the definitive answer.

I say no. George Romero and Brooks say no and that settles it for me. I want to hear it from one of the horses mouths.

Some can some can't, it all depends on their motivation.

I'm getting confused by all the movies out with the same title. There should be a Lunchtime of the Dead movie.

I thought this thread was going to be about the '60's rock and roll band. :(

My sort of boyfriend loves zombies. No idea why.

But whenever I find out somebody likes zombies, I direct them here:

Not entirely related, but it is called "Zombie" and it's a great song with a great vocalist (Dolores O'Riordan).

"I VANT TO DRINK YOUR BLOOOD!" Oops, wrong genre. " I VANT TO EAT YOUR BRAINS". Nah, that doesn't have the same impact.

Love a good zombie flick. Day of the Dead wasn't one of the best, but had one of the best lines: Capt. Rhodes to the zombies devouring his intestines- "Choke on 'em!!"

Good idea.

Or "Play-Date of the Living Dead."

Hmmm, brains. I love Zombies. I met Tom Savini in the 80's and got him to sign my Day of the Dead poster. I have seen the latest Romero movie but it's on my list.

The Max Brooks books are on my "look for at 1/2 price books" list because I'm cheap and spend too much on books as it is. There's a movie in the works with a script by J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame.

David Wellington has writter a trilogy of zombie novels that you can read on his website, http://www.brokentype.com/planet/ or you can buy them in a bookstore near you.
