The sun is shining for once, the air is warm-ish, and everything is squishy and smells of mud. Joy of joys!!!!

- Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

We woke to snow flurries this morning, but the ground was warm enough to melt it away. I've got daffodils blooming but I can't say it's warm, just decent with typical March wind. I can't wait. Spring is my favorite season.

The best thing about spring is it's starting to be light enough in the evenings to tempt me into doing things. Went for the first run of the year last night, was a bit sore today but it felt good to have done a bit of excercise.
Also started planning lots of cycle routes for weekend fun. After months of darkness, cold and rain it's great to be thinking about doing things that don't involve staying inside or taking a scarf and gloves

spring completely wipes if you ask me. all that bothersome twittering in the woods. not cold enough for the winter gear, not warm enough for the summer togs. It's too friggn light after dinner now. AND I have to start "taking care" of the damn lawn again. now, theres all these people chuntering on about "OH HOW GERAT IT IS..ITS THE RENEWAL OF LIFE, ISNT IT LOVELY" etc., etc., etc... .rubbish. give me a month of gloomy, overcast, 40F days. Crime rate ALWAYS soars in spring. I'll have to buy Mrs ChasR expensive plants that will die by june. Allergies, potholes, pollen, leaky gutters, vermin under the porch, fleas on the dog ...grrrr ......pi$$ off, spring, imho.
Cherish that last foot of snow djm. We got none.

Oh bleh....go rain on someone else's thread...this one is supposed to be HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!! You have to understand I truly detest the cold and snow (by the way, we still have about 6 inches on the ground too...there are just a few bare spots that squish nicely when I jump around on them ). The coming of Spring is an awesome thing for me. I LIKE eating my dinner in natural light rather than iridescent. I LIKE watching the grass grow in the back yard (unless, of course, Mr Izz doesn't mow it and I lose a child or two in there...). I LIKE expensive plants (lol). And since I don't have allergies, I could care less about the pollen. So despite your less than enthusiastic response, I'll continue to do my Spring Happy DanceCHasR wrote:spring completely wipes if you ask me. all that bothersome twittering in the woods. not cold enough for the winter gear, not warm enough for the summer togs. Obligatory gloat: It was 70F/21C and sunny today. The ice plant in the yard is a riot of purple flowers. The swallows have returned to Capistrano. The lizards have returned to doing push-ups on my patio. Ants are invading the garage. And the little lame balloonman whistles far and wee. Spring!
