But Cyyyynnnnnnnth!! (said in best whiney voice) It's Peter Pan peanut butter!! The bestest peanut butter on the planet! It was a sad, sad day when they pulled them off the shelves...I had like 10 jars of it in the pantry, and I had to bring it all back for a refund I was half tempted to eat it anyway......Cynth wrote:Oh.

Why had they recalled it? I'm wondering because we bought some for our dog a while back (we use peanut butter inside a toy as a distraction for him sometimes) because it was on sale, and he developed a very nasty case of colitis. I thought maybe it was some ingredient in the peanut butter (loosely so called...when I read the ingredients list, I was appalled at how many thing completely unrelated to peanuts went into that jar!), but perhaps it was tainted? I tossed it out, but now I'm curious.

Too late. Now I have a vision of you playing penny-whistle wearing eighteen-button gloves in black satin.izzarina wrote:Innocent Bystander wrote:And I thought you had found some eighteen-button gloves in black satin in your size.

That could be a real draw.
I wonder if it's even possible?

I just Googled it. Salmonella! I bet it was the cause of Wiley's problem! Now I wish I still had the jar...if it was from the infected lot, maybe I could talk ConAgra into reimbursing me for all that Flagyl....Redwolf wrote:Why had they recalled it? The best peanut butter is the stuff you grind yourself - 100% roasted peanuts - nothing else. There is no such thing as "natural" or organic peanut butter, as far as I can tell. Peanuts are the most heavily sprayed crops with herbicides and pesticides only after tobacco.

djm...
You're breakin' my heart, over here.
I too love peanut butter...eat it every day!
Been eating Adams Organic Peanut Butter. "USDA Organic." "Certified Organic by Quality Assurance International."
Ingredients: Organic roasted peanuts. Contains 1% or less of salt. Please! Don't tell me this is a fake!!! I couldn't take going back to the hydrogenated goop, with all the curious ingredients!
Yikes!
