Fun, Music, and Sad News

Post by mvhplank »

It's been a while since I've posted and I think I can sum up the reasons I'm back today with:

I had a great time at Folk College at Juniata (not Juanita) College in Pennsylvania

I've been pretty busy trying to build a freelance/consulting business (and that subject goes immediately off-line -- if you're curious, you may e-mail me)

And my dear friend Bill's dear mother Janet died over the weekend at age 100, having had and survived the flu of 1918, two world wars, and the recent idiocies (including attending protest marches against the Vietnam war) with a resiliant spirit rooted in many generations of her Quaker forbears.

Janet was always sweet to me and when I met her (well into her 90s), I thought she had the energy and spirit of someone 20 years younger.

She'll be missed.
