It's really just the old battle of the sexes.

As to God, the Judeao-Christian-Islamic God
is a Daddy God, not a Mommy God. The personality
is male. He really is like a father. He lays down
the law. He isn't terribly nurturing and his
basic relation with the Hebrews is contractual.

You can see it as a sort of chauvinism, but I think
it has something more to do with the idea
of unifying a people under law. Not that women
can't make law, but I don't think it's sexist to
note that their strength tends to be more
typically in nurturing--a different sort of
relationship, perhaps a more important one,
in fact, but not what was needed by Moses
and the ancient Hebrews.
They were making a nation out of a disparate
people.

So this idea of calling God She, for political purposes,
does some violence to the history of the religion,
which needed a law giver more than a nurturer.

It's not mere chauvinism that God is He.

Misandry?! You had to ask?
- flawed creature
- with many bad traits
- liar
- cheater
- vain
- he'll give you a hard time
- bigger
- faster
- like to hunt and kill things
- look silly when he is aroused
- satisfy your physical needs
- witless
- revel in childish things
- fighting
- kicking a ball about
- won't be too smart
- he will also need your advice to think properly
- proud
- arrogant
- self admiring

There's possibly between 2 to 5 of those 21 items - depending on which woman I was compared to and who's doing the assessment - that might be used to describe me.

These kinds of things make me wonder - if I wasn't arrogant enough to think them nonsense, would I be insulted?
Daniel

It's my opinion - highly regarded (and sometimes not) by me. Peace y'all.

I prefer misobodhrány. It's an equal-opportunity attitude.

Gender Gods are endlessly fascinating.
I kinda like "Conscious Energy" type God Names....like "I Am That I Am." If taken on it's own, a "name" like that seems gender free and all-inclusive.

Plus...if it were a Big Bang...wouldn't it take two to tango???

Ooops. REALLY don't mean to offend anybody!!!

I think that...
all relationships are challenging and all beings are difficult to
understand. Deities are hard to understand. Animals can be mysterious
and hard to fathom. Humans of all ages, races, and sexual orientations
are complex and hard to understand.

It's hard to tell sometimes when something is funny (affectionate twitting)
and when it crosses the line into being mean. I certainly have been guilty
of mean humor in my LTR, although often I didn't mean to be mean....

The whole relationship thing is just really hard!!!

And there can be a certain amount of humor in that.

Which is worse---to be depicted as having been created with many flaws or to be depicted as a god who can't manage to create a decent companion for one of her own ?

If Congratulations gets a wife, I will be dissappointed.
