I haven't checked the board in ages and ages and ages, but got wind of this. I'm thinking about attempting it. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I like driving, and it hits the tail end of my spring break, so I might make it... just a little heads-up for you all to prepare yourselves in case I do. ;)

I hope you can make it, Karina. The more the merrier! And we don't even require you to come in costume

Naw, you got 'em mixed up. Kar wears costumes. Karina comes from Reno, in the past with Jack. Easy to see why you're confused.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?

Cool! That'd be great to see you Karina. Too bad it looks like Jack will probably be out of town.

Ooof! My mistake. Neither one needs to come in costume, then. Unless they feel like it.

Yeah, Justine, I'd love to see you again! And all of you! You're all great, and worth the drive!

The costume thing is easy to mistake, you see, as it is often difficult for people to tell that I'm NOT in a costume, as I can be so horrifying. Okay. No. I'm lying. People usually just laugh.

<Ping>

Scheduled reminder - San Jose Party is March 24. If you're a Chiffer, a musician (or wannabe), like (mostly) Irish music, or just want to meet some of these strange folk with stranger screen names, come on by.

If you don't know the way, get in touch using the "email" link & I'll give you directions. (My board Inbox overflowed the first year - email works much better.)

It's pot luck. If you want to bring something there's a BBQ grill and several ovens available for warming and prep, etc. We'll have some snack food (cheese board, olives, crackers, breads) and some drinks (both soft & hard) on hand to start out. There's generally more than enough food to go around, so don't worry if you're an impecunious student or running late - come if you can.

Hope to see you on the 24th!

<ping> One week now! <ping>

Folks, please email if you need directions and/or a phone number. If you haven't been here before, we're in San Jose's Almaden Valley area, a couple of miles south of Highway 85 (near the intersection of Almaden and Camden).

This is an informal pot luck - if you can bring something, it'll be great, but the important thing is to bring yourself and have a good time. We'll have some finger foods and drinks on hand to start things off; we've a couple of ovens and a grill if you want to bring anything that needs cooking (or just warming) on site.

An informal RSVP to this thread would be nice so we can get a rough headcount, but don't sweat it if you forget (or can't commit) - come if you can, and we'll be glad to see you.

The Nickel family will be there, and the 7-layer will make an appearance, unless y'all are tired of it, in which case I'll bring something else.

I will need directions again, because I'm the most forgetful person on the planet, so I'll drop you a line.

I haven't played my whistles in ages, thanks to my singing dog, but I'll bring them, along with both my harps.

Bad news, we are out of town.
John had to go to China so I am down in SoCal with relatives so I can get some help with the bb. So it looks like we will miss this one. Y'all have fun without us & we'll catch you at the next one.

We'll look forward to that, and meeting the bb.

I can understand the "out of town" part - I just got back from a "3 day" trip that turned into a two week trip. It's good to have family available to help when you need it.
