Slan,

Oh, g'wan, Dub, you have enough cred on the board that you could have gone ahead and included the A-word. It wouldn't have done permanent harm to your reputation for superb taste... :P

Her first few days in the 1K lounge and the beer goes to her head.

I have said it here before and no doubt I will say it again...ABBA were a great pop band who wrote some of the best pop music of all time. They never tried to cure the worlds problems or feed the starving masses, just made great pop music.

"Dancing Queen" is probably my favourite pop song of all time.

So there :P

Slan,

Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Beer? That was beer? Sheesh. They told me the Lounge had snarfed up all the beer long ago... thought it was just root beer in that chipped C&F mug. Tasted funny, though, and I was wondering why I had such a headache...

Willie just played here a couple of weeks ago. I didn't go (can't stand C&W) but those who did said he had to talk his way through most of his songs. The old throat is mostly gone.

You were probably a big Archies fan, too. I can't tolerate ABBA. About the closest I could ever get to that kind of stuff was Heart doing Dreamboat Annie.

Its interesting to me that when Pat Boone turned over his heavy metal leaf that he didn't attempt any Frank Zappa; nothing too heavy, maybe Zombie Wooff or something easy like that.

How about Mel Tormé singing "Physical"?

Or The Ramones and "The Wheels on the Bus Go 'Round and 'Round"?

Or Bowie doing "Oh, Holy Night" Pinups-style.

Hmmm. From what I hear I doubt whether you could have got the owld candelabra man interested in schoolgirls - not even raunchy Catholic ones (of the kind I consorted happily with meself in my misspent youth).
