I don't mean to be sexist but why is your boy called "Mary" ?
Is "Mary" the surname?
I believe that Mary is a traditional Irish middle name, regardless of gender.

Congratulations, Izz! What a cute baby. You are blessed.

Now, about, Francis, little Eamon's middle name. I doubt that he will use it much. My brother's middle name is Lynn, a name which now is only an initial at my brother's choosing. After having three boys, I'm sure that my mother really wanted a girl, but no luck, her destiny was to live in a house with five rowdy guys.

That, fair Emm, is correct.
As most people around here already know, my middle name is Mary and as most of you also know, I could never be mistaken for a girl

Congratulations! What a gift for Christmas and a tax deduction! Excuse me for my praticality, but never being a father or a parent, I have a tendency to look at things in a practical matter.

I see His Blood Upon the Rose

I see his blood upon the rose
And in the stars the glory of his eyes,
His body gleams amid eternal snows,
His tears fall from the skies.

I see his face in every flower;
The thunder and the singing of the birds
Are but his voice—and carven by his power
Rocks are his written words.

All pathways by his feet are worn,
His strong heart stirs the ever-beating sea,
His crown of thorns is twined with every thorn,
His cross is every tree.

By Joseph Mary Plunkett.
Listen to me young fellow, what need is there for fish to sing when i can roar and bellow?

I never knew this but, then, I am not most.
I always fancied Doov Lynne to be somewhat feminine
