Unfortunate URLs
This is one of the banner ads being touted at me here at C&F:
I'm pretty sure the URL is supposed to be read as "Plenty of Fish [in the sea]", but I'm afraid I also read "Plenty Offish" right away. One's chances don't look very promising...

Re: Unfortunate URLs
I was typing the URL for a classical music website, and after I had typed "classical" the suggestion came up for a classic albums website. I was quite taken aback.

There's psychotherapist.net.
Is that "psychotherapist" or "Psycho, the rapist"?

He just got fined for spamming.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Re: Unfortunate URLs
A friend of mine was looking for Dick's Sporting Goods' website and typed in www.dicks.com.
It was NOT sporting goods.
Since then I believe the store has claimed that domain, but I imagine a lot of people got unpleasant surprises from that.

- Tell us something.: I've been a whistle player for over 40 years now, which is a sobering thought. I got started on a battered old Generation D and, well, just never stopped really!

Expert sexchange is rubbish these days, all the good advice seems to have migrated to StackOverflow ( which also has the advantage of not being misinterpretable)Peter Duggan wrote: I've always thought the hyphen in experts-exchange was well placed!
