Also see Lambs to the Slaughter, a thread describing the inevitable and ignominious routing to come of the US on Saturday by their mother country. :D

Firstly, UP THE BLADES! (for next season)

Secondly, I am predicting a 2-2 draw England vs USA, USA to equalise in the last few minutes.

Nothing beautiful in the officiating of the US - Slovenia match.
It's a sad excuse to blame the referee, but he lost control of the match in the first minute and never got it back. As a result, he made some very questionable calls including disallowing a US goal and yellow carding a forward, apparently for taking a ball to the face?
Better luck to the English later on today.
Hey, did anybody catch the Greek Tragedy put on yesterday when the Nigerian player air-kicked him?

They like to call it a "draw" in the Soccer world. They also like to call it Football...
Anyhow, you're right. Take the point and move along. We just may get through to the knock-out Round !

Agreed on the officiating. It looks as though it might be the referee's first and last World Cup game.

Not much luck for the English. Let's hope the Yanks do a bit better against the Algerians.

Soccer is not even a sport. Sports have clear and defined rules. If a ball is kicked into a net it is a point. Simple rule. Ass. football doesn't seem to have rules.

My very-amateur prediciton for finals: Spain vs. Argentina. Don't hold me to it, I didn't make fun of anybody else's team. I LOVE Spain's passing game. Blown away last night in the repeat of the Chile-Sp game. Rhythm, reliability, somebody always open, and everytime they lost the ball, they got it back quickly. I was surprised that Chile got that point.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?
