James, the use of emotionally charged, hyperbolic rhetoric like "crippled" masquerading as reasonable discourse is exactly why it no longer exists.

With respect, there are plenty of sites that offer controversial discussions without having tons of rules and heavy moderation...and without the acrimony that had become the hallmark of the Proct forum.

Trying to fix it by making yet more rules is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline.

Well, I do...but I enjoy the people on these boards and often want to seek their opinions. The asking, and the getting, though, worked better back before there was a long list of rules and forbidden topics. Those irritate everyone and...well...historically, you can see how it turns out.
