Closure Post?
Commercial Problems?
It's a difficult call.
It's just how the chips fall.
Fatalistic?
No, more realistic.
Am I uptight and inelastic?
No, my time here has been fantastic.
I'm the quiet whistle maker
More a giver than a taker.
I long to please and acquiesce;
It's been been a trip, I confess.
My final post? the answer's yes.

My whistle hobby is still viable and my website still accessible and my guarantees still good.
A Google search for Quiet Whistle or Whitecap or Hoover Whistles or even Mack Whistles
gives you clues to where you'll find me if you want.

For what it's worth a look for penny whistles on eBay might turn up something useful.

I've no regrets or complaints or grudges or dull axes or loose ends. Just the urge to go make banjos (and a whistle now and then).

Lift with me a parting glass.
Fair well my friends!
Mack

Good luck from us here in England, too, Mack. You will not disappear from our thoughts, even if we see you less.

Confused Poobah?

Mack, if you never make another whistle in your life, you're always welcome here in Chiffland.

I'm proud to own three of Mack's whistles. Banjo, not for me. It may be time to test Mack's will to resist making another whistle.

Good luck Mack. Come back to visit once in a while. May the road rise to meet you.....

Happy Banjo-ing, Mack!

Better watch out, though. People may decide to head for Colorado for a Mack fix. You have been warned. 8)

Here's to you, Mack, and your future endeavors. I hope you will continue to visit us here.

And I hope you will continue to make the occasional whistle. All of mine are such marvelous players.

I second MTG's elegant farewell and welcome, Mack.

I believe you made me the only 1.5mm bore African blackwood high D whistle barrel you've ever made. You also made me a custom delrin mouthpiece to go with it. Age and oiling are producing a truly great volume of mellow but chirpy fluency that's outstanding. I call her "The Phrase Maker" because I believe she is that rare thing among instruments, a teacher. Her voice takes me to highs and lows, phrases, timings and ornamentations I don't see or daren't even tackle with my other two dozen whistles or four flutes. (All mistakes are mine).

You made "Phrase Maker's" mouthpiece to fit my Sandy Jasper high D barrels in brass and copper, as well as Sandy's copper C. I also have one of your white caps that makes my Generation D and Feadog into solid, clear voiced, reliable players.

Your work will be a continuing monument to you, Mack. Thanks again and all the very best ...

Keith.

Good luck. Ive been building banjos for three years now and taking time off to build whistles. You got to keep looking for whats over the next fence row. Its what make this short life interesting. See you at BHO. which is the banjo equivalent of C&F... Bob.

You can check out any time you like,
but you can never leave.

Your influence on C&F and whistlemaking (especially mine) will endure for a long, long time. I for one, am thankful for it.
