100 things to do wrong starting the whistle.

Post by mutepointe »

The other thread where shatfield listened to and took our advice prompts this thread. My big first mistake:
1. I didn't find the forums so I had to glean all my advice about whistles from sellers and makers. I had no one to ask in person and had only seen one person play a whistle.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Great thread Mute........can't wait to hear the replies.

I hope I haven't done this but............

4. Buy a whistle because of the way it sounded either on a recording or processed with echoe or because of who played it.

I'd much rather hear them all sound raw because that's what it's going to sound like in my bedroom.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Tell us something.: I love uilleann pipes and I have become obsessed with them. But now the antispam software is just irritating the hell out of me so I am typing random crap to get past the minimum 100 character limit.
