Post by Killaloe »

I just pre-ordered a Vambrace Irish Whistle by Oz Whistles in High D Blackwood from Whistle and Drum.

Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Um....... hell yeah!!!

Now I just have to wait for it!! Ugh!!

The Walrus

What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?

The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

Tell us something.: Longtime member of Chiff and Fipple. I own/have owned more whistles than a person should, I think. But I’m not complaining.

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Actually, as you acquire lots of whistles from many makers, you will begin to have favorites. You will acquire x number of whistles in the keys you desire, and you will sell or trade all the rest. Then comes a time of relatively stasis. Whoa will go into a type of faux remission. But please beware. Below the surface, Whoa will always be waiting...

Brahahahahahahahahahahah

Best.

I'd like to answer your question, but at the moment I'm busy with my Reviol low D that arrived yesterday.

After that I'll need to spend some time with the Syn set I just acquired.

On second thought, I think I may be disqualified from answering your question.

With me, I simply found something else to collect. I think everyone needs one collecting hobby and, for a time with me, it was whistles.

Yes there is a cure. Backpacking. Long distance. Months on the trail with only one instrument will give you new appreciation for that instrument. It will become a beloved best friend.
