My band's been doing a little in-studio recording, so I thought I'd throw up a little sump'n-sump'n for people to give a listen to :)

Crested Hens? I had completely forgotten about that tune.

Nicely done!

Well Done,
nice playing, and arrangement,
Different on the B part to what i have heard before, but still works, and adds to individuality,
the arrangement gives the impression of both beauty and power / strength,
perhaps just a freckle slower for my taste would have been nice,
but thats just me,
Again well done and thanks for sharing.
Regards
David

Very pretty! I listened to it over and over as I drank my morning coffee and did my email.

Very nice! I like the difference in, uh... dynamics? ... between the A and B parts. Sometimes it's nice to just have some people not play every single part of every single song.... makes it all the more effective when they do come in.

By the way, which whistle did you use? I can't stop hearing it. I think I'll try to learn that tune, lol.

Thanks everyone for the kind words :)

The whistle's a Chieftain non-tunable, NR low D.

The B part is different than the way I learned it also, but that's the way the group here played it, so I just picked it up. I can't even hear the original way I learned it in my head now..

Thanks for your answer. Tomorrow I'll try to play it along your recording!

For you, people, here it's the sheet music http://music.gordfisch.net/oregans/page ... 199bbb.php (I liked this version better that the one it's on thesession)

Bump...

I hope it doesn't bother you, Wanderer, I tried to learn more or less this tune a few hours ago and I recordered it, here it's:

(I still can't half-hole well on the low D, but what the heck.., someday I'll be able to do it :moreevil:)

Cheers,
Martin

doesn't bother me at all ;) Good go at it!

Is that a Susato? It looks so huge in the video!

I still sometimes miss the half-holes on this tune, if I'm not paying close attention. Different whistles of mine require covering the hole by different amounts--a good argument for sticking with one whistle to really get it down :)

I try to learn a new tune every now and then that half-holes one different note than I am already used to, so that one day, I'll be comfortable half-holing them all.
