They do put on a good show. I've seen Natalie twice with Matt on pipes. Very entertaining. The last time I saw them, Matt seemed to be playing Water Weasel and what looked like Overton whistles depending on the key. It's been a couple years though.

Can you imagine growing up in that area, with those families - everyone plays, sings and dances! The house parties must be a real treat. Sounds like heaven to me.

Natalie is great...I live in Cape Breton, and she's one of my favorite fiddlers. Haven't seen her for a while though; don't recall ever seeing any whistle in the show.

There is a chance he is playing whistles made by another Cape Breton piper/whistler, Ryan J. MacNeil, who plays in Beolach. His website has been down for a while, but it is www.macneilwoodwinds.com. Probably not his whistles though, as he machines a a seperate mouthpiece. Ryan did a session at our local library recently, playing reelpipes, and his own C and low D whistles.....VERY nice whistles, I'm going to order a C I think. Great musician and very nice guy.

Doh! Why didn't that occur to me? Thanks, Adrain W.

Matt MacIsaac was with Natalie when she came through Boulder this past year. He wowed the crowd with his pipes, but I most enjoyed the whistle parts. (Actually everyone in the band was great. Amazing performance.)

Looked around to see if he had a CD out, but it seems to be unavailable now. I hope to see more of him.

I should tape up a whistle and try to emulate that two-whistle technique. :)
