Over heard at the local session...

Post by Anita's Dad »

"This whistle has KEVIN CRAWFORD'S GERMS on it!"

OK, I guess ya had to be there... (He made us a great deal on a Chieftan/Lunasa low D on Saturday and she took it to a session on Monday.)

Very cool sounding whistle BTW I guess the word that I would use is "romantic" or "otherworldy." And (as we have discovered during this ROTTEN excuse for "spring") very stable in drastic temp changes.

What I love about "real" music is discovering those rare folks who are lovely people AND truly GREAT players.

(Step one: get somebody named "Vallely" in the band...)

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

No, not really. He has been working for two years now with Pauline Scanlon. Her ("their" really) most recent project "Hush" (on Compass Records) is a BIG fave around our house.

(it's like "Gillian Welch"--in reality it's "David Rawlings and Gillian Welch" but they are never billed that way)

Lately, they have just joined up with two of the kids from the Corrs (who have split up) in a Candian based band called "the Mackenzie Project."

Paul Meehan, despite being one of the quietest, shyest guys I know, is doing an EXCELLENT job. We just miss him being in Buille and Karan Casey's band! (Although I've heard that Donal Luney filled in for him on the most recent Buille tour, which is pretty cool, too!) Paul and Trevor really drive Lunasa's sound to a great place.

Spreading hate and discontent? :D (Just kidding, hopefully NOT)

A virulent outbreak of WhOA has broken out around my home and now it seems to be mutating into FAD as well... appears to be a common progression of the disease.
