FS: MK low D whistle in Dark Green; new

Post by tommyk »

I tried out a dark green low D and low F whistle recently.

THE F IS SOLD.
THE D IS ON HOLD PENDING PAYMENT.

Hands down the single best metal low whistles I've ever played (played quite a few). Really nice bell notes, but even throughout both octaves. VERY low breath requirement for both of them and even the D has a very easy reach (though I do have slim and longish fingers and use piper's grip).

I paid 150 pounds each plus 15 pounds shipping. I waited a few months.

I'm selling the D for $300.00, shipping inside the U.S. included.

These are the beautiful newer "dark green" (more like a forest green with an electric sheen) as opposed to the original green, which is more of an olive. Both are in spanking-new condition (each comes with it's own soft case and tube of slide grease, as they originally come from Misha).

I'm selling them because I've come fully to terms with the fact that I wish to blow wood (bring it on).

No trade offers are necessary (with the possible exception of Abells in keys other than A, C and D).

Thanks.

I saw/heard the mighty piper Fred Morrison perform with a MK Low D a couple of weeks ago. It sound fabulous - to my ears very much like an Overton.

The MK low D can also be heard being played by Ali Hutton, who whistles for Back of the Moon. I heard them play a couple of times last summer and was impressed with the sound of that whistle.

I've got one in Low D. It's first-rate. Sounds much like an Overton, without stealing the Overton design.

Tell us something.: I like whistles, flutes, lyres, cittern/mandolin/bouzouki family instruments, as well as heavy and nasty slap bass. Languages, linguistics, history (especially Migration Period and Bronze Age Europe), cuisine from various parts of Latin America, chili growing, bushcraft, and the works of JRR Tolkien also tickle my fancy.
