Here's a rundown on the remaining gifts.

From Jerry Freeman
New Tweaked Mellow Dog D

Irvine tweaked Walton's Mellow D

From Mitch of OZ Whistles
"Magen" specially selected Generation - High D

From Anonymous Donors:

Daniel

It's my opinion - highly regarded (and sometimes not) by me. Peace y'all.

Hi everyone, (especially Avanutria)

I'm sorry I haven't gotten the case into the mail just yet... It's ready to go but life's little interruptions have been toying with my best laid plans, as usual ... one of those 'little' interferences is that one of my very dearest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer just a few days ago ... so this whole event is even more near and dear to my heart now than it was before... Bless you all for participating and supporting this great cause, and especially thanks... ever so many thanks... to Daniel for volunteering, organizing and seeing to it that so much more was donated by such lovely people. Thanks and congratulations as well to all those survivors who share their stories and strength with those just starting the 'adventure'.

annie :)

edit: Case shipped 08/14 ... global Priority. :)

Not the voice of experience with NAFs, but after a week's acquaintance, I may have found a new love. :) What a great sound! I've read somewhere that it's hard to play a wrong note on a NAF. Well, I've proved that to be incorrect; but even just noodling around with the notes gives a soothing sound. Words like haunting, meditative, calming all come to mind.

Thank you, Daniel F., for all your hard work (on this & on the walk to come) and for providing me an opportunity for a new musical experience -- and thank you, Daniel B., for the donation of this lovely instrument.

Glad you like the flute. They're wider bore than low whistle which makes the low end note even more haunting. (That on top of a minor key!)

Wow! That Donation meter is bubbling over!! YAYAYAY!

Again, thanks to all who gave, and especially to Daniel for instigating our involvement. My friend had her surgery Thursday and we are awaiting the pathology reports. So far it appears that they caught it way early and were able to get it all, and no evidence to indicate any spreading.

Bless the Pink!

Now THAT is worth celebrating. I hope all the preliminary indications turn out to be true.

Give her my best wishes please.

I received my two whistles this weekend - the Hoover Narrow Bore brass and the O'Brien maple - thanks, Daniel and Judy!!

Since all I've ever played is a Generation (I have one Freeman-tweaked, and one as nature made it), I'm looking forward to seeing how different it is to play these whistles - so far, I'm enjoying them both - they are very different to play from each other and from the Generations.

I'll send some tunes in your direction on the day of the race, Daniel.

thanks again,
Myra
