Interesting. Buying tickets to an actual traditional concert would cost less. I guess the guy had a lot of money.
But people can be surprizingly generous. One of the small ensembles from my school band playing xmas carols outside a store as a fund raiser was given a hundred dolars by one guy when the average donation is around five. It's not like they even could have sounded good--it was a cold day so their instruments must have been really out of tune and the reeds on the clarinets couldn't have been working too well. Our town is a bit obsessed with the band (it's the only thing that gets us any recogntion), but I didn't know anyone was taht obsessed....
