proper disposal?

Post by nonagon »

They are old, rusty, horribly untuned (except the Eb which is perfect) and no match to their shiny successors , but ... I just couldn't chuck 'em in the bin that'd be awfull as they had served me well for a long time.
So here's what I did:

Generations Whistle-Windchimes. It sounds lovely!!!
It gives them new life

no whistles were harmed in the making of this apparatus, all materials used are recycleable

Thank You! I've been loath to toss the really iffy ones because,... well... they *are* instruments, even if limited in musicality, and I have been hesitant to give them to anybody for reasons of ethics, as in "don't saddle someone else with something you know to be more frustrating than useful", and fear of reprisal! This solves my dilema nicely!

The mobile is a great idea!

I've only had a few whistles that I've been willing to part with. I gave a couple of cheapies to my kids to keep them away from my 'newer-betters'. I also kept a couple of clunkers to practice my 'tweaking' on. I destroyed a Clarke before I ever found this site, and one Gen I pretty much killed too, but I saved the barrel 'cuz I'm looking at the custom heads you folks rave about, like the Hoover. I have a Waltons and a couple more Gens that could use a nudge, but I haven't done it yet because I basically like them despite their faults.

I've made tweaking notes from the great suggestions here, and just need a quiet time to get creative, I guess.
