Atlanta, Alpharetta, and-a Marietta Session?

Post by billw »

The Serpent's Sad Lament

My CP post is done
Until the winds of March do blow,
But here in Alpharetta,
For a session, where to go?

I've looked on Chiff and Fipple
And called Irish pubs around,
But in all of north Atlanta,
I have nary session found!

I know that somewhere near this town,
That I now call me home,
Must be a touch of good ol' Eire,
Where a Smithy can be blown!

Or perhaps a Busman, or a Dan,
Of Bingamon renown,
A Water Weasel? Even Clarke!
To make a joyful sound!

So listen to my plea, good gentles,
Simply tell me where,
To play my music, must I go,
(I'll find me own way there!)

:D

Will you travel
to Chattanooga?
Wipe your nose,
you've got a booga.

I will not go to Chatta Noo,
I will not play my flute for you,
For you said that upon my nose,
An ugly booga had arose!

And so, and so, I asked my friend,
She said, "Do you suppose
Before you speak to me again,
That you could wipe your nose?"

I found a mirror and close I peered,
Directly at my snoot,
And there it was, a booga big,
I blew it with a toot!

And now, and now, my nose is clean,
So fortunate, but no,
For Tennessee is far, you see,
To 'Nooga I sha'n't go!

But Alpharetta, it is fair,
And Marietta, too,
So come on down, and grab a chair,
I'll play along with you!

A shame you do not leave your bower,
the travel time is but an hour.
I beg your pardon re the booga,
But what else rhymes with Chattanooga?

When J.S. Bach his lovely muse,
He took to Chattanooga,
'Twas there he wrote, 'tis said, to note,
Tocatta, and his Fugue-ah!

Oh, shut up. I know it's a stretch! :D

Tell us something.: How doth the little crocodile
     Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
     On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin,
     How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
     With gently smiling jaws!

Twoolie! A Hoolie of Two! XD

Post by billw »

So, we got there with a guitar, a minidisk recorder, and about 9 or 10 whistles between us.

We were the only people there with musical instruments. So we held a "Twoolie"! :D

What the hell, we played, we sang, we had fun! Entertained the customers, the owner, the servers, ourselves, and it was cool! :) I've never seen anyone put away banger and mash the way Jeff can! What a guy! :D I had a beer (thanks, Jeff), don't tell my doc!

Monday after next, we'll once again be at the Loafing Leprechaun in Duluth, GA. Come on down. Bring whistles, flutes, bodhrans, bouzoukis, concertinas, guitars, banjos, accordians, harps, bones, and a spirit of fun! Cuz it will be!

Hope to see you ALL there! LOL

Takes years of practice, mate. Just keep your hands and fingers away from me mouth whilst eating and you'll be safe. :D
