November update

Post by Mack.Hoover »

Seven Novembers ago there were less than ten Hoover whistles. They were unsigned and unnumbered gifts to family and friends.

The best advise I got was from Jim Anderson who said I should sign, number, and document every whistle.

My best review was from Dale Wisely.

My best salesman was Thom Larson.

My best supporter was Vinny Di Gloria.

My best critics will remain forever in my heart. because they gave correction.

My worst critics will remain anonymous, but very dear to me because they taught me to not take offense at rejection.

My farthest customer is in New Zealand.

I just signed whistle number 2437.

My advise and encouragement to every new whistle maker: Go for it! The perfect whistle is waiting for you to discover it!

Seven is a good number!

Mac!<

P.S. My website has some new entries.

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Congratulations sir!

There are only a few whistles I play on almost a daily basis. That last whitecap you made me is one of them...it just begs to be played.

You made great whistles! And you're a good fella, too.

Congratulations Mack!

7 years! I love playing the 2 whistles you made for me. Everytime I play them, I think of you.

Here's hoping you have many more years of whistle making ahead!

Cheers,
Kathy :)

Tell us something.: Well, I've been a contributor and visitor to this site since 2001. At one time or another, one of my photographs was the opening page photograph. My teacher was Bill Ochs. I play the Penny Whistle. Not a lot else to say.

Congratulations to you Mack!! Rarely a day goes that is not made better for me by picking up one of your fine instruments. I am getting accustomed to that Low F, and if your luck continues to run good, you will not hear a clip of it for a long time. Thank you for all you do for this community, which I believe is just one of many that you serve.

Your Friend,

Mack,

My hearty congratulations. Sorry I've been out of touch, but your whistles raise up a song almost every Sunday morning!

Blessings,

Congratulations, Mack.

Your CPVC high D and low G are always right next to my computer, and the Oak with Whitecap lives on the table next to the TV/reading chair in my bedroom.

When I get the urge to play, it's almost always a Hoover that gets the call. Thanks for creating such great whistles.
