Summer School in Aberdeen, 30 July - 7 August

Post by splore »

Th Splore Traditional Music School is a week long intensive course offering creative development, performance opportunities and the chance to meet and work with leading musicians.

Led by Dave Francis, tutors include Christine Kydd, Mairi Campbell, Patsy Seddon, Kenny Hadden and Jim Walker. Classes in fiddle, flute, whistle, clarsach, percussion, song and voice, for ages 16 - 25.

For more information visit www.splore.org.uk Residential and non-residential places and bursaries are available to cover course fees.

Highly recommended - if you have moved out of the age range for Tinto and are looking for a summer fix of music, stimulating company, and good crack, look no further. The campus at Aberdeen University during the International Youth Festival is a fun place to be. There will be opportunities to perform at the Lemon Tree, and the Music Hall, and the chance to really explore your music. The Coast String Fiddlers from BC, Canada, will be around this year too, so the sessions should be great. Check it out!
