Yes, Permali (and before it Dymondwood) has a distinct odor when it is cut and turned. This odor dissipates over time. Most of the whistles I send out are already pretty scentless.

i talked to ralph yesterday -he said he is already making these out of permali-----------is the color the same --------------or lighter :D
