That Vhieftain Tunable 'Gold" Low D you are sighting was being offered by Phil. It's been sold as of yesterday I beleive. Why was it $200.00 for an OS.
1) It's a CHIEFTAIN come on!
2) It's a CHIEFTAIN GOLD!
3) IT'S TUNABLE! Thats right a tunable Cghieftain Gold with a aluyminum slide I believe.
Yep it's gone If the new owner wants to sell it contact me.
Anyways its the last one he had and probably one of the few he made.....very rare indeedy.
So like I said if the new owner gets it....hates it......then please contact me!

I am talking about this:

And I wouldn't pay more for a factory-machined whistle than for a hand-made whistle from an experienced maker, but perhaps that's just me.

I see your point....
You were doing fine until you found it necessary to needlessly bad-mouth someone else's product.

I think the biggest problem beginning whistle players have is not supporting their breath, especially at the end of phrases. I've even seen this on experienced, decent players of non-wind instruments who take up the whistle. I think this unsupported breath is often what causes people to despise tonguing in beginners, because they often not only tongue between notes, but STOP THEIR BREATH too. We all know many good players tongue often, but not one of them start and stop their breath continually getting that "toot - toot - toot" beginner sound.Bloomfield wrote:Overtons are hard to adjust to, mainly because you need to support your breath, something only a few whistles require.
