Very OT: Sunrise, Sunset

Post by DazedinLA »

Hi Everyone!!!!

Well, its only a few days before election day, and I'm hoping to {insert Name of Diety of Choice} that my Florida absentee ballot hasnt been shredded or counted thrice by now. :)

Anyway, I was lucky enough to have my camera when these lovely events were happening:

Sunrise in Denver, Colorado last Sunday morning:

And Sunset in Sarasota, Florida a few weeks ago:

These shots have not been tweaked or digitally jazzed in any way.

Isn't life beautiful!!!!!!!

Very pretty. And it will still happen, regardless of the election outcome.

As a humble Brit I can only interperet this photo as a Burning Bush............of course this is a totally non political comment unless of course you have a Boiling Blair somewhere in your camera?
Shall I compare thee to a summers day?
No, thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Great sunsets. We don't have much in the way of sunsets where I am now (and can't see the horizon, either, from my house), but when I lived in Marina, near the ocean, they were spectacular. I do miss them.

Still, I'll contribute some mandevilla blossoms up on top of our patio cover with the sun almost behind them, from a couple of days ago.

my daughters Grandma is in Sarasota, she has been there lots of times and feels a real connection....election aside, I will show her the photo and she will love it! The thing she always loves about Sarasota is that she saw Manatees (?) there. Can you post a photo of one for her? I think she wants to 'adopt' one, but we already adopted a dolphin and a donkey!!!!!!

And, best of all, a manatee-cam and fun Florida wildlife info from Homosassa Springs: www.manateecam.com

Actually, if one candidate in particular wins, we will have even MORE colorful sunsets. This unfortunately is NOT a good thing, since many vivid sunsets are caused by excessive particulat matter in the atmosphere: aka air pollution. Check the environmental records of both men and vote accordingly...

You're right Paul, and I'm planning to vote accordingly...but I hope that in the long run, regardless of the next 4 years, we'll behave more wisely.

:) Behave more "Wisley"? I'll bet Dale would agree :)

Nice photos, everyone.

Actually, by posting some nice sunset photos, I was kinda saying hey everyone, lets get through election day and still remember to look at the sunsets and smell the flowers (funny and cool that a flower photo was shared!!!) and lets all keep some perspective.

anyone else have some nice nature-ey photos?
