I've seen a photo of him on a plane playing a whistle. As for this album, though, interesting though it might sound? Well, scroll down this list of articles from the same website. Pay particular attention to the heading and the title of the list.

A pity. I could just see myself curling up with a nice glass of single malt, 'Trane wailing on his Gen on the stereo and a copy of Kinds of 'Do -- the Story of Miles Davis' Hair in my lap.

Wow, this could be one interesting album! I have several Coltrane CDs, never realized these two worlds might connect at some point.

I love the cover, but I wonder why the photo is named "spoof coltrane"...?

Umm, click on my links. All will be revealed. It's an April Fool's. You didn't really think there's a book about Miles Davis' haircuts, did you? Actually, some of the "reviews" are pretty funny.

Coltrane may not, alas, have been a whistle player, but he did play shakuhachi. Check out the photo on the following website:

So...are you saying there's no truth to the rumor that Micho Russell was famous for sneaking off to Dublin for late night saxophone playing? :boggle:

My first reaction was "Patrick, alors ça, ça me troue le cul!".

On second thought, I'll have to scout for a Strasser-Marigaux-Lemaire alto whistle, or maybe more obscure records featuring Gerry "Freeman" Mulligan (B.whistle) and "Copelandballs" Adderley (T.whistle, slide whistle) with Miles Davis on the kazoo.

Whatever--I did fall for the spoof for a minute :)

PS: Thanks for the links, Sandman! Some of the titles are a howl: "The lost Duck Tapes", "The Jazz soul of PDQ Bach", "Bossa Nova Bifchslap!"
