Tell us something.: I'm a New York native who gradually slid west and landed in the Phoenix area. I like riding on the back seat of a tandem bicycle. I like dogs and have three of them. I am a sometime actor and an all the time teacher, husband, and dad.

Tony McManus - Ceol More. I've been trying to learn a couple of songs from this CD since I bought it. He's an amazing fingerstylist, very tasteful playing.

"Do not fear;Zion,let not your hands be weak;
The Lord your God in your midst;
The Mighty One,will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you in His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)

He's amazing indeed. And an extremely nice guy to boot. I took a workshop with him last spring and I've kept in touch with him since. He is moving from Edinburgh to Toronto this month and hopefully, that means more appearances in the US.
His two other CDs are great, too ("Tony McManus" and "Pourquoi Quebec?"), and you can even find some fine tabs at the following address, if you're interested: http://banwarth.free.fr/tablatures.htm#tabjean
"bundle and go" by john doherty.
john was pointed out by paddy tunney as one of the last living links to the tradition of bards, harpers and oldtime seanachie.
at the time of the recording, john was 83...but no sign of old age in his playing!!
Bushes & Briars by Susan McKeown. Very pretty, has penny whistles, but I think you'd have to be on something to call it traditional. It has tablas and tubas in it.

I am the grass swaying in the wind
I am the wind rustling the leaves
I am the leaves reaching for the sun
I am the sun providing for the life
I am the life everlasting eternal
