Why would anyone want to pierce their eyebrow? The mother goddess thing doesn't feel very orthodox, somehow, either. I'd be skeptical about joining her temple.

Naw, the Bay Area, and Berkeley in perticular, JD!
And Bloomie, yer right.... I am soooo bad. BTW, your aviator is already saying tsk tsk, you don't even have to write it out....
It's the bio page that gets me. PJ ORourke couldn't have done any better. I really like the part about "trying different schools." I'll bet Daddy viewed it quite differently.
I know....different strokes....

Hmmm.
"Jamie Isman......is a mystical, magical priestess, whose heart and soul is dedicated to the spirit of nature and to all of the wild and freely living things. Her songwriting reflects this commitment deeply, weaving mythology, politics, and divine love into her intelligent, visionary poetry, her hauntingly melodic, invocational vocals, and the intuitive harmonies of her guitar....
....She also offers deep gratitude to the Earth Mother, who is the inspiration and the muse; the trees, the birds and the vast rolling hills, and the wisdom of the ocean. Their medicine of simplicity, and the freedom of being, is the true aspiration of this young visionary’s heart."
And Andrea says: The problem is?? I see a woman of the Goddess expressing her soul through music. I can't imagine the Great Mother would find much wrong with that. Jamie Isman's song, Her Soul, was really very lovely.
I have a pierced nose and it doesn't seem to interfere with my spirituality, or my ability to worship the Goddess through my music, or my ability to be a teacher to others in my tradition.
Best,
Andrea
Edited to also add: You'll find quite a lot of Mother worship in the Jewish tradition, if you look deeply enough.
