Here's to the Infrequent Posters!

Post by Walden »

Here's to all the Seldom Posters,
Whose posts are rare and few,
Here's to Alan, Lark, and Moonlight,
And Alpaca Turned Blue.

To those whose posts have made us laugh
And those who've made us think.
To those who've split our ranks in half
And told us all we stink.

To those who do not have a lounge,
Or even a large room,
To Cskinner and Murphy Stout,
TaxmanUK and TomB.

All of us "infrequent" ones should chime in on this one. Maybe we could dedicate a prize to the chiffer with the lowest number of postings/membership duration ratio? :)

I've been here (actually two incarnations earlier at least) since Loren was a newbie and Jessie only had 5 whistles. OK, maybe not that long but close.

If I had internet access at home I'm sure there would be a few more digits in my post count. I just use the board to keep my sanity at work.

What an appropriate time to end my summer-long silence!

I've been doing so much lurking lately that I don't think I've posted since I got out of school. But I'm back again which means I should be getting up to my usual average of a post every two weeks or so. I just know you're all dying to hear what I have to say! :D

I am happy that you used the word "infrequent" rather than "irregular".

Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)

Walden, please don't forget the never-posters, those 534 souls who have registered a user name, but have yet to say a word. Blues Harp Bob, Whistler, Whistler's Widow and The Uilleanator: they keep me in suspense! I'll always wonder what they're thinking. Ralph Sweet and Walt Sweet are both registered, and neither has posted. Are they lurking right now?

My favorite never-poster, though is sawisely, of Guangzhou, China. Hello, sa!

Hopefully he lets us know the real answer, but I always just kind of assumed it was some sort of "Hampster Dance"- or maybe a variation- "Guinea Pig" dance.

It's an animated GIF from the original Hamsterdance.

Here's a link.

http://www.hampsterdance.com/hampsterdanceredux.html

When I open the page, the music doesn't work correctly, but the graphics do. The music, in an enhanced version, is now a hit song on Radio Disney, so they may have been required to dismantle the original tune for licensing reasons.

Best wishes,
Jerry
