CP for July and on

Post by Mack.Hoover »

The broken wing is back to useable and I am making a few whistles. The website hasn't had any changes for a couple of years and everything there is still available and prices are still the same. I am maturing (81 now) and think I have whistle making to a pretty decent state and of an adequate value.

The big thing to me is not sales or fund raising since I flunk at both, but making things that work and provide satisfaction. My Crowdrise effort did not. I met my goal but it didn't make a dent in the bigger picture.
I am pulling out of that and offering everything there directly here without the fee that CR adds.
The cause is the same: Operation Revamp AKA The Veterans Art Center.

If you do want to make a donation it is fine, but not necessary.

If this all makes no sense refer to this post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=102647

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

OK. Let me be the first, please, to nominate that sentence for Understatement of the Year Award, for 2016.

The very best to you, my friend.

Hey Mack.

Being a friend to you made me a better person.

All we can do is keep giving.
And that is what I think life is All about.
I still play that whistle you made for me and I still remember all the advice you gave me.

Your wing is unbroken.
It makes a ton of sense to me.

Mitch

It behooves me to add:

I have had one of your "black-tops" in my kit for about 7 years now.
It remains sweet and pure.

Above all, it is quiet.

I use it to learn tunes without waking the house.
I use it to play along at the session when I am unfamiliar with the tune and want to learn on-the-go wihtout disrupting those experienced players.

But most of all, I use it when I want to explore the music just to myself.

Thanks to you Mack, I have learned many tunes I would never had attempted without my black-top.
It kinda got me over my timid self!

So many thanks!
All the best!
