Is there any cure for WhoA?
As one who ordered the same whistle two weeks and several hours ago, I can say we are lucky we do not all suffer from MAS (Mandolin Acquisition Syndrome).

Cure for Whoa
Take up another instrument then your syndrome will transfer to that one..I think you should be happy your addiction is fairly reasonable. If you don't buy too many O'Riordans, you're still ahead of anyone with GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome).

If you are lucky, it will occasionally go into remission, but it cannot be cured. There is no true "Magic Whistle". If you are really, really strong, and lucky, you might be able to kick it cold-turkey, but the emotional costs are prohibitive.
Good luck my friend.
Good luck my friend.

Hi
I thought my WHOAD would be cured for a while with my Water Weasel A/Bb set, but then I was surfing the Internet and before I knew it, I found myself ordering one of these:
Clicky
I tell myself that I need it to serenade my fiancee who is part native American, but that's really just an excuse...

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Yeah, exactly!Tintin wrote:The cure for WhOA is to become obsessed with the music, not the instrument. The whistle is the tool, but the tunes are where the magic is.
Though I must say my tune CD acquisition habit probably rivals a moderate whistle-buying habit financially. This summer it was solo CDs from Tony de Marco, Brian Conway, Daniel Payne, and Graham Wells, plus the old duo album from Andy McGann and Paddy Reynolds. And I've already got my eye on a bunch of old albums available for a great price as MP3s from Amazon.com....
