Wonder what "very used" means. Battered? very "usable"?

And low D is about all that most whistlers want to try. Low C sounds as though the holes must be a nearly impossible stretch.

He obviously just used low G to distinguish it from the high screeching G whistle. Some people call it an "alto" G, if you like. So, considering there is still a low F and a low Eb before getting to a low D, the low G is pretty much in a comfortable stretch.

No, I meant a low C. However, I read this post early in the morning before my third cup of black coffee, and my eyes had not yet uncrossed. It wasn't a C after all, but a low G, and they are very playable.

My bad. Sorry.
