Tell us something.: I play the first flute Jon Cochran ever made but haven't been very active on the board the last 9-10 years. Life happens I guess...I owned a keyed M&E flute for a while and I kind of miss it.

I don't know, but I love these concerts Phil provides. Hours of entertainment.

Tell us something.: I've been playing whistle for a very long time, but never seem to get any better than I was about 10 years ago. I'm okay with that. :)

It's a single reel called "Maud Miller's" ... I learned it from Grey Larsen.

Oops...didn't read your message all the way. The first tune is Maud Miller's...I'm not sure what's at the time point you mentioned.

How about this (my transcription from the wmv clip):

X:1
T:Trip to Miriam's
R:Reel
C:Colin Farrell
N:Colin is fiddler with Gráda, originally from Manchester
S:Kerrywhistles.com - Dave Williams Tribute Session 06 (24:13)
D:Liz Doherty - Last Orders [Track 10]
Z:MTGuru 2006-12-04
M:C|
K:A
AE~E2 Adcd|BF~F2 BcdB|ce~e2 fcec|~B3A BAFB|
AE~E2 Adcd|BF~F2 BcdB|ce~e2 fcec|1 BAGB A3G:|2 BAGB ABcd|
ce~e2 fcec|~B3c BAFA|EAA FAA EA|A FAA EFAB|
ce~e2 fecA|~B3c BAFA|~E3F ABcf|ecBe cAAB:|

Actually, in the wmv clip the box, whistle and banjo are playing slightly different settings. So this is a slightly "normalized" version.

The sycopated section in the B part has several different variations, including |EAA FAA GAA|FAA EFAB| and |EAA DAA CA|A DAA EFAB| and |CAA DAA EA|A DAA EFAB|.

There's also a reference to the tune in the Fiddler's Companion:
http://www.ibiblio.org/fiddlers/TRIP.ht ... TO_MIRIAMS

It's a nice tune, and thanks for "discovering" it. Hope this helps,

The level of musicianship is high, much higher than the band I play in. I listened for 15 or 20 minutes while I did other stuff, and I gotta say it's not the kind of ITM I enjoy. Maybe not enough accompaniment. Maybe they played too fast. Not sure what it is.
