I do like it...but...too much whistle for me! Heresy, I know. I've come to realize I like the whistle as part of a small ensemble, or at least with one other melody instrument, soaring above and adding a bright, sparkling spice. But carrying the melody by itself, it becomes tiring to me quickly. Does anyone else here feel that way?
That is really cool, thanks. The accompaniment part was really interesting and worked really nicely with the whistle. For some reason it is surprising that such good Irish music comes from Russia, but I guess me being from America and playing Irish music is no less different.... and all of the Irish music in Japan too. Sweet...
BoneQuint, I don't feel that way but I don't think it is heresy for you to feel that way. We all have our preferences. I guess you probably didn't just have the volume turned up too high or something.
Actually, I have noticed that I have really been enjoying a CD that alternates singing with instrumental solos from different instruments. I think my ear can become jaded to strong sounds even of the most pleasant kind such as solo whistles, pipes, fiddles, singing. It is the strongness that makes me like music from these sources, but my ear seems more attentive when the type of sound changes. So I guess I do sort of know what you mean, even though I realize you were just refering to whistles. It isn't always that way for me though, so I'm not sure.

Thanks for more tunes - they are great. I still like the simplicity of the first one the most... it is really cool to hear the whistle with just the guitar and the complex way that it is backing up the tune. Fun stuff!
