Advanced tips and tricks

Post by luukzs »

Hi everyone,

So after long searches, all I can find are beginner tutorials, and tutorials for songs.

How about the advanced people share some tips and tricks, can be anything from funny to mindblowing! I know you might already know of some of these things, but it's nice to have a dedicated thread

First thing

Brian finnegans triple/double tounging

I reach this by making the tounge movement dadaka or dagada quickly (can't do it quite as fast as him though) ;)

Second, I can do an electro/rave melody by "humming" into my (low)whistle, just blow and make a humming kind of vibration at the same time. works best with tounging.

If other members know other things, please share!

There was a video of two folk playing with each others whistles. As it were. That would be a good video to dig out........ Two people who frequent this site as I recall.

One does not equal two. Not even for very large values of one.

As far as I know it was Roland Kirk who did much of the innovating on the flute. Ian Anderson borrowed most of it. You can do it on whistle too.

Like this, singing and playing the flute together

1945 Starck Highland pipes
