Each key is $125 on top of that so I figured four keys adds $1000 on to the price so that comes to $2,075 right? If I am wrong please correct me ASAP so I can correct the listing. 4 x $125 = $500, not $1,000. So, according to Seth's site... a D chanter in silver: $1,075 4 keys: $500 extra chanter r...

A couple of years ago I would have said that I had a preference for ergonomic scalloping because I found it more comfortable, but I think it was mostly because I still had some beginner's death grip. My hands are more relaxed now, and after playing a bunch of chanters I agree with Pat Cannady that I...

Anything out there for Mac users? I haven't seen similar freeware for the Mac, but I've been happy with Amazing Slow Downer and I think it is worth the $45, considering how often I use it. A couple of big selling points for me were the audio quality when slowed and the ability to slow down AAC file...

C chanters

I bought a used Seth Gallagher C set in 2003, but I wasn't all that thrilled with the chanter. Benedict Koehler quickly reeded it at the 2003 SoCal Tionol and it was much better, but it still left me wanting. A year later I acquired a Koehler & Quinn C chanter which I am thrilled with. On a whim...

I would think your D chanter would scare everyone away since it kinda looks like some kind of alien gynecological instrument. This is L.A. That sort of thing draws a crowd here, plus an illustrated story in the Weekly about how alien gynecological instrument parties are all the rage amongst the hip...

It's a nice tune. It sounds Scottish. Who composed it? The fiddle tune comes from Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean. It was originally published as "The Gael" on his 1991 album "The Search", which was commissioned as a soundtrack for the Official Loch Ness Monster Exhibi...

The misty star gazing stuff of Spillane was made to get girls... In fact, you can almost tell how "romantic" the music will be by how long and curly the guy's hair is. Interesting theory. It seems to hold up across genres: http://www.musiconphoto.com/Andreas_Vollenweider_03_50.jpg http://...

it could be a particularly brash and defined vibrato. That's what it sounds like to me - a fast vibrato from drumming the E and ghost D fingers while playing a C natural, perhaps even while lifting the chanter slightly off the knee. And do I detect a hint of raspberry and just a flutter of white pe...

Sounds like you're thinking of Robin Williams singing Bruce Springsteen's Fire.
