I was looking at some of the pictures of neighboring tribes and came across this; http://www.nationalgeographic.com/lewisandclark/record_tribes_067_13_26.html http://www.nationalgeographic.com/lewisandclark/images/tribes/high_473.jpg This has some personal meaning for me. I lived on the Palouse, in ...

Actually, it’s my persona Verp Tlethl http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/User:Verp_Tlethl who has fallen in with kitsune. The thought of a large, bear like technologically advanced alien trying to be a small, lithe magical creature is a part of the humor. The one person who commented positively via Uncycl...

What no one seems to point out is that doing a convincing job of faking the landings probably would have cost more than actually going there!

I've had an ongoing strange mood, and this is one of the results; http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Kitsune

My problem with dumplings is that they really like to blow up. I do my best to squeeze all the moisture out of the filling and make sure there's no air in the dumplings, but always about half of them turn into balloons, and maybe 10% explode. (same thing happens when I make ravioli) Is there a tric...

I did a quick web search for won ton wrapper recipes. Looks relatively straightforward, basically a kind of egg noodle. I’m thinking I could make them quickly with my tortilla press!

I looked at the caterpillar. The green one in the picture looks like it could be a “photoshopped” example of the one in the movie. The one in the movie is probably about normal 2 inch caterpillar sized, the seam in the floor does look like an ordinary tile grout seam and the leg looks like a common ...

The two centipedes pictured are related, both being in the family Scutigeridae. Scutigeridae are noted for having rigid bodies letting them run faster and well developed eyes. They are noted for being the family of centipedes with the speed and eyesight to hunt swift arthropods such as flys. I will ...

I said the ability to do things should be a way to help enrich lives, not the way to enrich lives. New abilities to do things simply changes what people can do with their lives. I feel that living simply and well and having high technology are not incompatible. I put thought into my life. I think th...

Junk mail that is not opened?
I have heard of one fellow who sighed up onto every junk mail mailing list he could and used the result to heat his home. I used to joke I had a disc burner. I heated my home with AOL discs.

Our geometrically increasing ability to do things should be a means of enriching life. I think it is a case of people mistaking the technology for the culture it should enrich.

I’ve been out of circulation too long. I got isolated when the Moscow (Idaho) Science Fiction Convention imploded. I'm an old line fan. I still cringe when I see it called Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi was seen as such a derogatory name, we called it sciffy and reserved that label for horrible stuff put out by peo...
