Re: Playing faster, playing perfectly...
Also, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to play super fast because I did not start playing this music as a lad (in fact, I started at 40). And you know what--that's fine with me. Re: Why are these flutes so expensive, and should I buy off ebay

Re: Wylde and Rudall on E-bay
The barrel looks very non-wylde. I would suspect the entire HJ. It may be stamped but the third section is NOT part of the original flute... unless of course it had the blocks removed and pin mounts as a later repair. Never seen anything like it. Seems anachronistic. I'm with JD here. Franken Flute.

Re: My new baby...
Glad you like your new flute. Using my dial calipers, I measure my Copley delrin at 1.08 at the embouchure hole and .980 and the D hole. The taper is pretty even. I sold my Forbes, but it did feel a little thinner and the holes are a little bigger. Shame neither is quite what you are looking for as...

Re: Free flute recordings by Chris Norman (legal!)
Nice of him (or them). Wonder why this is? "The Caledonian Flute" is certainly a worthwhile download. "The Fields of Frost and Snow" is new to me. I wondered the same thing. I know the first tune of the Caledonian album from your WFOs Kevin. Chris can throw down some tasty flute...
