FS: Smallpipes in A by Robert Felsburg SOLD
I’m the second owner of these smallpipes by Robert Felsburg and only played them a few times since purchasing them a few years. From what I was told, I don’t think the previous owner played them much either. The set still looks unused. While preparing the set for sale recently, I found that the reed...

Re: Embouchure suggestions on fife / piccolo
I enjoyed reading that update :P. You have many many great options in the S1000K range, both used and fresh from a maker. If you're still wanting to give yourself time to see if the flute is for you, the Copley option mention is a great one. Last year I finally picked up one of the Copley delrin flu...

WTB: Bb Uilleann Pipes Chanter
Looking for a Uilleann Pipes Chanter in Bb.
Doesn't need a working reed, but I'd want to know if the chanter played in tune previously , since I'd be using the chanter with singers.

FS: Casey Burns C/Bb/A Low Flute Set SOLD
I'm selling a Casey Burns C/Bb/A Low flute set in Mopane with tuning slide. As you can see in the photos, the set includes one head, three 2-piece bodies, and 2 end joints. The case is the standard cloth case that Casey Burns includes with his flutes. The long bodies are mostly straight, only a slig...

BUMP! Still looking for an F whistle in particular. I'd love to find a MK Pro, Goldie, Reyburn, Humphrey, or Burke, but I'm open to other offers.

Re: Newbie questions.
As a beginner I should not touch the reed, but I’m certain to have to have to tune the pipes regularly. Okay, doesn’t tuning involve adjusting, touching the reed? Once the reed settles, there isn't much regular tuning needed. If you take the chanter to a different environment, play it outside, stuf...

Re: Newbie questions.
Thank you for your experience and expertise. About the reeds, and I realize I may be igniting a fire here, but with all of the difficulty that the reeds could potentially cause, it makes me wonder if a reed made from plastic or some kind of artificial material would be better for resisting alternat...

Re: Newbie questions.
Like PJ mentioned, make sure to get an instrument made by a reputable maker. In my experience, where in the world it's made doesn't make a difference (USA vs Ireland), as long as it's a good maker (not the sets made in Pakistan). I've never had a reed arrive across seas and play super well locally. ...

FS: Arie De Keyzer D Flute $225 SOLD
I'm selling an Arie De Keyzer D flute. It's his student model (brass fittings) in a stabilized Maple. The previous owner said that Arie only made ~10 flutes in this wood. I've owned this flute for several years and used it as a stepping stone while learning the flute. Now I'm selling this flute beca...

Re: F Flute
I've personally been curious about F flutes by Millyard, Lejeune, Copley, and Gabos (there's one on irishflutestore). Maybe I'll order one someday...

Re: Flute Noob
In general I've found that while the differences between flutes can feel significant to the player, the overall quality of tone when I record myself is fairly consistent no matter which flute I pick up. Advice I got when I was first learning was to just find a quality flute that was in good shape of...
