""Wonder how the Founding Fathers would have voted on legalization of marijuana."" Most, if not all of the founding fathers grew hemp as a crop.. the vote would likely be YES. Furthermore the vote would be recorded on archive quality hemp paper. (which was often made from recycle...

I served 4 years in the Army, it wasnt as bad as some might think. Rather a lot of the training has to do with doing things in a completly illogical manner. (Like attempting to polish floors with watered down- water based wax for example.. and expecting said floor surface to hold a shine for more th...

Perhaps this comes from mostly playing the highland pipes, but here goes. When playing unison with other Pipers, it is common practice to watch the other pipers fingers. Lock in, dont even think, and listen to the whole sound. IF you are in unison, you wont even hear your own instrument. Another thi...

On Manditory Drug Testing... This is merely a formality that insurance companies impose upon businesses. It has no bearing on anything. A pre-employment test is given, and DUH most people pass this one. Various tricks include.. drinking bleach, drinking a bottle of Certo, drinking several gallons of...

I started on the Pipes so naturaly my towsey 'heid is cluttered with GHB Tunes moreso than anything else. There I was at the GJ Games last year, trying out Mack Hoovers whistles.. the quietest, mellowist and easiest to overblow whistles on the planet I am standing on. HE hands me a Low G Susato, and...

"Is this a tune that works on the whistle? I have doubts I'll ever get that A a A C A thing right. Maybe it's something that works best when the air is coming continuously from a bag. Anyone know?" I did a quick run through of "Itchy Fingers", I would say that it is do-able.. but...

(slightly OT, unless you plan to play along with any sort of Bagpipe) The Way I understand Equal Temperament, is that each note is seperated by 100 Cents, or one Dollar. The Chromatic Scale consists of $12. Some accountants (tuners) are more accurate than others. My CA30 is consistantly off by 1.5 H...

I am not familiar with the CD set being discussed, but I imagine its a practice type thing with the whistle cut out of the mix. Perhaps this bit of info is helpfull... here goes. There is a tasty bit of software called "decomposer" made by Replay technolgy. It is supposed to effectivly rem...

"I never give to beggars/panhandlers, etc. because I figure they're likely to use the money for drugs--" This reminds me of the shenanigen I plan on pulling one of these days. We are starting to have a problem with "work for foord" panhandlers in Grand Jct. My plan is to completl...

As one of those who also (well mostly) plays the Highland Bagpipe, I approach same note triplets by seperating them with gracenotes. Cuts or whatever it may be called here. I call it a GDE embellishment.

I work all over Colorado, often in the 8-9,000 elevations. I play a Susato Low G, sometimes with a highly modified bottom section. I havent had any problems with completly locking up, but I have had problems with the Bottom notes sqwawking and nearly locking up. I often have the same problem with my...
