Re: Local Hero ..
A quick Google search indicates that the ceilidh band was a local group called the Acetones. I'm not sure who the members are/were.
I've seen Victor's song referred to as "Lone Star Man", but I have no idea whether it's traditional or was written specifically for the movie.

What's most important is cleaning out your attic and finding an unknown masterpiece by a deceased famous artist, which you can then auction off for millions of dollars.

Re: Odd News
I think the movie "Men With Brooms" is one of the greatest movies ever made, we've seen it more than twice in this household. One of the best stoner movies of all time! Yeah, that's a wonderful movie. James Lennox: "I'm a drug dealer." Neil Bucyk: "I bury dead people."...

You can't blame the bat for wanting folks to vaccinate their pets. He was probably bitten by a rabid house cat, and wants to protect the other bats.

You two sound like teenagers. Did it not cross the undeveloped teenage minds of either one of you that we might be using her full name when she is "in trouble" to get her "out of trouble"? No, not the way you phrased it. (And you sound like an old grump. ) Oh, that makes ...

I'm sitting here hoping against hope that the thousands of members of this board who are not posting to this thread are just as aghast as I am at the sheer, er, ( struggles for word that won't offend psychologists...) strangeness of the people who wash brand-new clothes before wearing them. I have ...
