the set is concert pitch. They have a sweet tone and have been going strong for 12 years now. The narrow chanter is a little quiet for rowdy sessions. Craig and Geoff began making pipes at about the same time in Australia and were in close contact until Geoff moved away. They both have similar taste...

My 2c. As far as Australia goes in relation to the rest of the world Geoff Wooff rates a mention, began making flat sets here, there is a big legacy here due to the amount of flat sets around that has had some influence on style in some areas. Also Craig Fischer. From the 70's on these two guys were...

The set was made in 1982 and has #37 on it if I remember rightly. It was originally owned by Pam Anderson in Queensland (not that Pam Anderson). Geoff had the set in 2001 for a service.

in no particular order Gordon Duncan (RIP); "The Circular Breath". AMAZING GHB playing with blistering versions of CraigsPipes, TheWoman Of TheHouse, TripTo Sligo, McFaddens Reel, as well as his own compositions and other things. Great for a different approach to tunes and piping. Tommy Ke...

There is a good recording of Tommy Reck that was made by Pedar O"Loughlin (in 1960 I think). I'm not sure where you can get this though. Someone here may know. Kevin Reitman is a good source for this kind of stuff.

If you can find this it has some good examples of his playing, 19 tracks in all.

when I started out I got some advice from a GHB player. he said that he visualised his hands being seperate from his arm which was operating the bag. He was able to focus on the different parts of his arms and hands doing their seperate jobs without intefering with each other. He said he imagined hi...

You dont have to keep your fingers straight, just make sure that the right parts of them are covering the right holes.

I know of 4 pipers in the adelaide area besides myself who would probably be interested on some level or other.

It is hard to get people interested in being involved in organising as it is usually a thankless task.

I would be happy to be involved in some way or other. I live in Adelaide so if it was decided to locate something here or in this area I could certainly help with that among other things. I have some good friends in Ireland and the USA who are great pipers and may be able to be persuaded to come to ...

I am prepared to work with some other people to try and organise an Uilleann Piping event (Tionol) somewhere in Australia. If anyone is interested in getting involved send me an email and we'll see if we can get something going. I have a little experience organising and have a bunch of contacts abou...
